Peralikatuma is a 2 player abstract strategy board game originating from Sri Lanka.  It is very closely related to Draughts and Alquerque as players hop over one another’s pieces when capturing them.  But its closest related games are actually Sixteen Soldiers and Kotu Ellima which also have origins coming from the Indian Subcontinent.

All three of these games use the same Alquerque board and on each of its four sides it has a triangular patterned board.  The only difference between the games is the number of pieces used in play.  Sixteen Soldiers uses 16 pieces, Peralikatuma each players get 23 pieces and in Kotu Ellima each player gets 24 Pieces.

As this game board is completely made to order from stock rough cut lumber, our current production time is about 3-4 weeks until it will be shipped once order is placed.  If this is a gift please take the time frame into account when ordering.

  • We custom mill this game board from 1" thick solid American Cherry (finished thickness usually between .9" - .95").  Once milled we backfill the games lines and spots (circles) with the appropriate color Epoxy Resin and allow to cure.  Once cured we will the laser engrave the decorative elephants and border to make a very unique board!  Now it is time to sand, oil and then varnish the finished piece.

We also 3D print the resin pieces for each player.  One opponent will be able to choose the coins with Elephants the other opponent will get the coins with Lotus Flowers.  These small disks are about the size of a Nickel.  You will receive 25 of each color so that you have an extra one or two depending on the game you play or should you lose one in the future.

This finished size of the board is approximately 14.5"x14.5"x.9".
