Frequently asked questions
Are your game accessories handmade or are they mass produced?
Almost every Riverside Realm product is made just for you in our small Ohio workshop. Depending on the product, that means hand-finished hardwood, precision laser-cut components, and/or high-quality 3D printing—assembled, inspected, and finished by real humans who actually play games. The only exception is some of our printed paper items like Wrapping Papers and Economy Scoreboards - you will see a note in the description if we use a 3rd party manufacturer on a specific item!
Do you offer custom or personalized items?
We offer personalization and limited modifications on select products, such as name engraving, text changes, or minor design adjustments. At this time, we do not offer fully custom, from-scratch designs. This allows us to focus on refining, testing, and consistently delivering the products we already make. If a product supports personalization or modification, it will be clearly noted on the product page. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask before ordering.
What materials do you use?
We use a mix of premium hardwoods (such as Maple, Walnut, or American Cherry), Baltic birch plywood, and durable PLA+ for 3D-printed components. Materials are chosen for longevity, visual impact, and table presence—not just cost.
Is assembly required?
Most items arrive fully assembled; others require light assembly. If assembly is needed, it’s clearly noted on the product page and is designed to be quick and frustration-free—no engineering degree required.
Why do your products cost more than mass-market accessories?
Because these aren’t mass-market accessories. You’re paying for small-batch craftsmanship, premium materials, thoughtful design, and gear built to last through years of game nights—not a single weekend. This is gaming bling, not disposable imported plastic.
Are games or components shown in photos included?
No. Games, cards, tokens, and other components shown in photos are for demonstration purposes only - unless explicitly stated otherwise. You’re buying the upgrade or addon—not the game itself.
How long does it take to make and ship my order?
Because our items are made to order, production times vary. Current lead times are listed on each product page. Once complete, orders ship promptly with tracking. Quality takes a little time—but we promise it’s worth the wait. As a general rule most of our 3D printed and Laser items ship in 7 business days or less, while our hardwood items and carved game boards can take up to 4 weeks!
What if there’s an issue with my order?
If something arrives damaged or isn’t right, contact us directly. While we typically do not offer returns, we do stand behind our work and will do our best to make it right. You’re not dealing with a call center—you’re communicating directly with the people who made it.
What is the return policy?
We do allow returns on stock products (see Returns Page for specific details). We do not accept returns for personalized or customized orders unless there is a defect in manufacturing or materials. Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right.
What if my question is not answered here?
If you question is product or item specific (ie - sizing, sleeved cards, expansions) it may be answered on that products page. If you did not see your question answered on either the products page or here, please drop us a note using the contact form below and we will respond as quickly as possible!
